Micro-cuvele se folosesc numai pentru diagnosticare ‘’in vitro’’.Micro-cuva este confectionata din polistiren, avand o cavitate de aproximativ 5 µL. Distanta intre peretii ferestrei optice este in jur de 0,160 mm, ceea ce permite determinarea fotometrica a glucozei in sange nediluat.
