Vasaprostan conţine o substanţă activă numită alprostadil, care este similară substanţei naturale din organismul dumneavoastră, denumită prostaglandina E1. Acesta dilată vasele de sânge, astfel încât sângele circulă mai uşor în membrele inferioare. Vasaprostan este utilizat pentru tratarea „arteriopatiei obliterante cronice a membrelor inferioare în stadiul III şi IV”, care produce dureri la nivelul membrelor inferioare şi dificultăţi de mers.
